Em outras palavras, pode-se deduzir que a cortisona aplicada exogenamente em criança, infantil e juvenil, bem como em adolescentes tem um papel de intensa importância no bloqueio do GH, o que faz com que o desenvolvimento estatural longitudinal ou linear fique comprometido e este fato leva a baixa estatura (altura), além do mais, faz com que concluamos que a secreção do GH seja de fato sono dependente, isso porque com a liberação de cortisol ou o hipercortisolismo observado em hipersonia idiopática e ativação do eixo HPA hipotálamo-pituitária-adrenal relativa em insônia crônica seja bloqueada levando a este “status quo”, e baixa estatura sequencial.
LOW HEIGHT; EFFECTS OF SLEEP DEPRIVATION ON HYPOTHALAMIC-PITUITARY-ADRENAL AXIS AND GROW: COMMITS CLINIC.
LOW HEIGHT IN CHILD AND YOUTH: ALTHOUGH SEVERAL STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THAT SLEEP DEPRIVATION IS ASSOCIATED WITH INCREASED SLOW WAVE SLEEP, OVERNIGHT RECOVERY, THE EFFECTS OF SLEEP DEPRIVATION ON CORTISOL AND GROWTH HORMONE (GH) IN THE NEXT DAY. PHYSIOLOGY-ENDOCRINOLOGY-NEUROENDOCRINOLOGY-GENETICS-ENDOCRINE-PEDIATRICS (SUBDIVISION OF ENDOCRINOLOGY): DR. JOÃO SANTOS CAIO JR. ET DRA. HENRIQUETA VERLANGIERI CAIO.
The hypothesis is that post-sleep increased slow wave deprivation are associated with lower cortisol levels and enhanced the secretion of growth hormone GH is driven by the decrease in the HPA hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis activity. This study was conducted at Pennsylvania State University, Hershey, PA 17033, USA. After 4 consecutive nights in the Sleep Laboratory, 10 healthy young men were totally sleep deprived during the 5ª night, and then let them sleep in 6ª and 7ª nights.
The blood sampling 24 hours was done in a series every 30 minutes and on the 4º day after the previous night's sleep and on the 6º day, immediately after sleep deprivation. We conclude that the results of sleep deprivation is a significant reduction in cortisol secretion following day and this decrease appears to be largely due to the slow rise of the wave sleep at night recovery. It was proposed that the reduction of CRH-hypothalamic corticotrophic releasing hormone and cortisol secretion may be the mechanism by which sleep deprivation temporarily relieve depression that is a consequence of this fact. Additionally, the deep sleep has an inhibitory effect on the HPA hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, while increases the activity of GH. In contrast, sleep disturbance has a stimulatory effect on the HPA hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and a suppressive effect on axis GH. These results are consistent with hypercortisolism observed in idiopathic hypersomnia and activation of the HPA hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis relative in chronic insomnia. Finally, our results support previous hypotheses about the role refund and immuno-enhancement of slow wave sleep (deep). In other words, it can be deduced that the exogenously applied cortisone in children and child and juvenile as well as adolescent has a strong role in blocking the importance of GH, which causes the longitudinal or linear height development compromised and this fact leads to stunted (height), moreover, makes us conclude that the secretion of GH is actually dependent on sleep, because with it the release of cortisol or hypercortisolism observed in hypersomnia idiopathic and activation of the HPA hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis on chronic insomnia is blocked leading to this "status quo", and low sequential stature.
